MTV Doubles Down On The Female-fronted Comedies With ‘Loosely, Exactly Nicole’ And ‘Mary + Jane’ Los Angeles Times
What started out as a sitcom about Byer accidentally setting fire to her apartment and then having to move into her sister’s house with her sister’s kids has turned into the much simpler premise of Byer and her life experiences. While I would not be opposed to getting my hands on that pilot , I’m much more excited to see Byer play a version of herself rather than be forced into sitcom tropes (it would have inevitably happened because it happens to the best of ’em). Got involved with reality-comedy-advice series Girl Code just a few months later — a show in which comediennes were interviewed about topics ranging from one-night stands to periods to the rules of friendship. But the start of her Girl Code residency wasn’t as smooth as it could have been.

In the former family, the child may have no one to turn to for protection or reassurance. When one parent is the terrified victim and the other the perpetrator of violence, what choice does that child have? Mothers who are victims of domestic violence are worried about basic issues of survival and may be unaware of the extent of their children’s terror and phobia. For women who do not leave their partners, constant tension and fear exist about the next violent episode. Their mothers may be equally anxious and may focus most of their psychic energy on making sure there is no recurrence of violence.
No one can presume to know how the children are faring; they are in the care of their maternal grandparents. What the children may have witnessed of their parents’, at times, abusive relationship also is unknown. During O.J. However, when children feel unsafe in this exploration, their curiosity is thwarted and their desire to learn by exploring is affected. Witnessing violence adversely affects children’s development in many areas, including the ability to function in school, emotional stability, and the ability to establish peer relationships. Clinical experience with these children suggests that they later engage in aggressive behavior and/or indulge in abuse as adolescents and adults. Far too many children in the United States may be direct victims of violence or helpless bystanders to domestic violence. The mechanisms by which children react to violence are perhaps best understood by considering how children respond to emotional trauma and by examining the psychological processes children use to adapt to the trauma.
